About Yvette
Yvette Sams is an award-winning writer/director with many projects optioned. She wrote the currently streaming film, “A Royal Surprise” for BET Network. This is her first TV Film shot on location in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She began focusing on screenwriting with her debut short script, The Redirect, which was a semifinalist in the 168 Film Festival. In subsequent years her short scripts, “Free From Me,” “A Blessing From Min,” “Supply Chain,” and “Sunday School” won finalists in the same festival. She would go on to direct and produce “Sunday School” which won 168 Film Festival’s Best Write of Passage and the coveted Audience Choice Award. Yvette also directed and produced, “Storm Watch,” which garnered 17 nominations at the 168 Film Festival making it the film with the most nominations that year, including Best Director.
As a multi-genre writer, Yvette wants to inspire, thrill, and entertain through storytelling. She has been a publicist in the entertainment industry. Prior to her work in Hollywood, she was a business owner and also worked as an advertising executive in tv, radio, and print. She later would go on to pen a column in two Las Vegas publications - Nevada Family Magazine and Nevada Wellness Magazine before becoming the Managing Editor for Prime Plus Magazine, a local lifestyle publication. She also authored “The Helicopter Parents Guide - Surviving Sr. Year” a book to help parents of immigrant and first-time college students navigate the tough college entry process.
Yvette graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema-Television Art with an emphasis in Screenwriting and currently resides in Beverly Hills, California, and is represented by Richard Sindel of CSP Management.
As a professional storyteller, she's adept at using her imaginative thinking and creative flair to bring her stories to life in engaging and entertaining ways.

A series of shorts focusing on early onset Alzheimer's in women of color.
Deadly Return - Suspense/Women in Peril
(script- pre-production)
Logline: To earn extra money, a newly separated woman opens part of her home as a home-share host and begins to suspect that things are not quite as they seem at her home and with her guest.
When recently divorced Carla Stevens returns to her dilapidated childhood home, where her mother was murdered, she decides to do short-term room rentals and things turn deadly.
Edge of the South: TV Series Family Drama/ Coming of Age

Logline: When a near-fatal accident leaves struggling single mother Bethany James incapacitate for months, her bi-racial teenage daughter, Tia, is sent to live with the birth father she never knew, in New Orleans. Upon arriving at the Thomas Estate, Tia learns not only does she not fit into this world of privilege but is struggling with racial identity trying to fit into the elite black society in the south.
Lost Friends - TV Series Historical / Drama

Logline: When her father suffers a heart attack, copywriter Joslyn Holiday returns to her small Connecticut town to run her father’s newspaper business. But when she unexpectedly runs into her former high school sweetheart Jake, sparks fly leaving her to question her reason for leaving.

Logline: Sparks fly between a tv producer and an architect while searching for the Person of the Year for a Christmas special in hopes of saving a failing morning show.
A Snow Globe for Christmas Romance/ Holiday (script available)
Logline: On assignment to discover the meaning of Christmas, Courtney returns to her roots and discovers lost love and renewed dreams.
Royal Pen Pal RomCom/ Family
Logline: A young prince engages in a series of pen pal emails with a foster kid only to later find out the woman he meets on a visit to the states is the person he used to email as a kid except she thought he was a foster kid as well not a prince.
The Search for December's Dog RomCom/ Holiday
Logline: Kasey Jerome, a lifestyle photographer, and lifetime cat lover, is sent on assignment in Winter Falls, Idaho, to photograph the town's annual Dog Calendar, she is teamed with the not-so-festive creative director, Ian Walls, to find the perfect dog models.
Austin Rose Romance / Drama (Script available)
Logline: When a struggling single mom suddenly inherits money from a near stranger she must first prioritize her life and convince the naysayers she is deserving. Will money be the root of all evil?
